For many years a neglected, overgrown reserve sitting between Germantown Bridge and Freeburgh Bridge, UOVLG have supported the formation of a Friends group to help restore this lovely area. An old track has been cleared through the Reserve, three extra walking tracks built, bush furniture installed, a boardwalk and rest area constructed, significant weeding done to remove woody weeds, and new  signage installed at both ends of the Reserve. Several small grants helped assist the group in their works, including Alpine Shire Community grants, Healthy Parks, Healthy People grant to install a new Information Shelter at the Snowy Creek Picnic Ground end of the walk.

Along the way we have had several of the old locals help us and have 'rediscovered the richness of the old Chinese diggings area. Hopefully new grants will help us restore this area and add it in as part of the new walking track options through the reserve.
